Track Officials reserve the right to make final decisions in the interpretation of race
rules and procedures. I understand that
Portland Speedway reserves the right to alter the racing program for curfew purposes or
other unforeseen emergencies. I have read the
Technical Specifications, the Race Rules and Procedures,
and the Release and Waiver of
Liability and Indemnity Agreement. I
will abide by the letter and spirit of these declarations, as I hereby enter the indicated

ADVERTISING & PROMOTION RELEASE: Portland Speedway, its duly
authorized agents and assigns, may use the driver(s)' name(s), likeness(es) and
photographs advertising, recording or reporting any Portland Speedway EVENT(S) before,
during and after such EVENT(S), including, but not limited to, sales and other commercial
projects, television and radio broadcasts, film production, videotape reproductions and
the like, and do hereby relinquish all rights thereto for these purposes.

2001 ENDURO FACTORY STOCK SPECIFICATIONS
DISCLAIMER:
The
rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct
of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These
rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all
participants are deemed to have complied with these rules.
NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY SHALL RESULT FROM
PUBLICATION OF,
OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS
The
race director shall be empowered to permit minor deviations from any of the specifications
herein
or
impose any further restrictions that, in his opinion, do not alter the minimum acceptable
requirements.
NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY SHALL
RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS
Any
interpretation of, or deviation from, these rules is left to the discretion of the Track
Officials. Their decisions will be final.
CONCEPT:
1. This
event has been created to provide an opportunity for the novice or inexperienced driver to
participate in a competitive racing event with a minimum of expense.
DEFINITION:
2. The
word "stock" will mean unaltered and as originally factory produced and
installed for year, make and model.
ELIGIBLE MODELS:
3. 1960
or newer American or Foreign sedans, 2-door or 4-door. No station wagons, vans,
convertibles, pick-ups or jeeps. No bolt-on tops allowed. No fiberglass or kit cars. No
4-wheel drive. Cars may be rear-wheel or front-wheel drive. No passengers allowed.
4. Wheelbase:
All cars competing must have a factory stock wheelbase of no less than 101 inches and not
greater than 130 inches.
ENGINES:
5. Factory
stock engine and components.
6. One
(1) stock carburetor. No "double pumpers". NO
FUEL INJECTION OR TURBOCHARGERS. A Ѕ
thick adapter may be used to adapt a factory replacement carburetor. No high performance carburetors allowed. All carburetors subject to approval.
7. No
pressurized tanks or electric fuel pumps.
8. Stock
steel flywheel. Stock intake and exhaust manifolds. Functional mufflers and tailpipes are
mandatory. All State and City of Portland noise ordinances and statutes will be STRICTLY
ENFORCED. 92 dba Maximum at 50'.
9. No
headers or speed equipment of any kind.
10. Engine must
be in stock position.
BODIES:
11. Must be
complete and stock, including all sheet metal. Cars must remain stock appearing. All body
parts must be in place at all times. Wheel wells may not be altered. Inner fenders must
remain in car. NO CUTTING!!
12. Both front
inner door panels may be cut-out for door bars. No rear panels may be cut out.
13. Removal of
upholstery is optional except for rear seat which must be removed.
14. All doors
must be chained, bolted or welded.
15. Deck lids
may be chained, NOT WELDED.
16. No outside
bars of any kind permitted.
17. No material
may be added for weight.
FRAME:
18. Frames must
be completely stock. No alterations, bracing, welding, reinforcing, etc.
GLASS:
19. Removal of
all glass is mandatory, except windshields. Windshield must have two (2) vertical straps
installed, minimum 1 wide.
20. Exterior
mounted rearview mirrors must be inside the body lines.
21. Windshield
may be replaced with screen mesh (1/2" maximum) covering all of the opening.
WHEELS:
22. Stock steel
wheels not exceeding 7 are to be used. Wheels may be 13 inches, 14 inches or 15
inches. REINFORCED WHEELS ARE RECOMMENDED ON BOTH
FRONT WHEELS; RALLY OR WHITE SPOKE OK. MINIMUM 1/2 DIAMETER FRONT WHEEL STUDS
RECOMMENDED.
TIRES:
23. D.O.T. 75
series passenger car radial tires only. P235 maximum size.
24. No recaps
or racing-type tires allowed. No L.T. Tires. All tires subject to Tech approval. Maximum tread width 71/2". Tread depth no
less than 3/32.
25. Maximum
"T" speed rating on tires.
RADIATOR:
26. Only one(l)
radiator. NO REINFORCEMENT.
27. Must be
mounted in stock position.
28. Must be
mounted with factory core support intact.
BATTERY:
29. Battery may
be moved inside driver's compartment however, it must be securely fastened (strapped) in
place and must be covered to prevent acid spillage.
TRANSMISSION:
30. Transmission
may be standard or automatic but must be stock for make and model.
31. Aftermarket
coolers allowed, but may not be in driver's compartment.
STEERING WHEELS:
32. Steering
wheels must have padded center.
REAR ENDS:
33. Rear ends
must be stock for make and model of car.
34. No
floaters, quick change or locked rear ends.
35. No cambered
rear axle housings permitted.
SUSPENSION:
36. All
suspension components must remain stock for make and model.
37. No cutting,
heating, welding or modifying of components.
38. Cars must
maintain 6 ground clearance for all components.
39. No
aftermarket springs or spring spacers of any kind.
BRAKES:
40. Brakes must
be stock. Must be standard equipment for year, make and model..
BELTS:
41. Use of seat
belts and shoulder harness mandatory. Must be securely anchored. Strongly recommend
anchoring seats and seat belts to roll bar.
42. Racing seat
belts, shoulder harness and anti-submarine belt are MANDATORY.
HELMETS:
43. Racing
helmets are mandatory. It is recommended that helmets meet the specifications set forth in
the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Regulations or meet the specifications set forth
by the American National Standards Institute, Inc.
BUMPERS:
44. Stock
bumpers only. Must be attached to frame.
ROLL BARS:
45. A minimum
two (2) point roll bar is mandatory with an additional two (2) bars attached to the frame.
Minimum two (2) side door bars on the drivers side are mandatory. Bars shall be a minimum
13/4" O.D. steel tubing, with .090 wall thickness. Strongly recommend high density
roll-bar padding. NO BARS THROUGH EITHER FIREWALL!
GAS TANK:
46. If stock
gas tank is used, it must be secured and strapped to the chassis in stock location. Must
use stock tank in car for make and model.
47. Fuel cell
strongly recommended (22 gallon max. capacity). BOTTOM
OF FUEL CELL MUST BE NO LOWER THAN 11 FROM GROUND.
Fuel cell must be commercially made, built for racing and completely
encased in 22 gauge steel container. No
homemade tanks allowed.
FUEL:
48. Gasoline
powered cars only. No fuel additives may be used. The track reserves the right to require
all cars to use the same brand of gasoline.
IDENTIFICATION:
49. Car numbers
must be on both sides, top and trunk of car in a contrasting color. Numbers are to be
minimum 18" high and 12" wide. Number on roof is to face right (passenger) side
of car. To be scored properly, numbers must be easily read from grandstands. Please see
that your number is clean, bold and contrasting. NO SILVER OR METALLIC NUMBERS.
50. Driver's
name is to appear on roof over BOTH doors in 3' high letters.
51. Car numbers
will be assigned by the Speedway office in the order in which entries are received.
DRIVELINES:
52. Drive shaft
must be painted white.
53. The drive
shaft must have two 360-degree loops located within 12" of both ends of the drive
shaft. Recommend 1/4x 1 mild steel flat bar for loops. Must be of sufficient
strength to contain drive shaft.
WINDOW NETS:
54. A nylon
ribbon-style window screen is mandatory. The ribs must be 3/4-inch material. Minimum
window screen size will be 22 inches by 16 inches. Must release from top with seat belt
type latches. Must be attached to the roll cage top and bottom.
2001 ENDURO RACE RULES & PROCEDURES
1. Date
entry received may determine eligibility to compete in the Enduro or consolation race (if
necessary).
2. All
competitors must be registered at the Pit Gate by 12:00 Noon, and all cars MUST be in the
Tech line by 12:30 P.M.
3. The
first car to complete the set number of laps is the winner. At the completion of the
events, Portland Speedway reserves the right to purchase the First Place Car), less fuel
cell (if used), fire extinguisher and racing seat and harness system subject to Tech
approval, for $500 in U.S. Funds. $500 Included In Winner's Purse.
4. Each
entry must have two scorers. A special area will be reserved for the scores where they can
follow the instructions of the Chief Scorer.
5. Starting
positions will be determined by a random drawing. A consolation race may be run, if
necessary.
6. This
event is open to all drivers age 16 and over. All drivers under 21 years of age must have
a signed minor's release.
7. The
race will start from a rolling start.
8. Cars
must hold grid position until the green flag drops.
9. The
YELLOW FLAG and YELLOW LIGHTS will be used. If there are cars with breakdowns or involved
in accidents, all other cars should avoid them while continuing the race.
10. The RED
FLAG will be displayed when the race is unsafe to continue. All cars will stop on the
track immediately when the RED FLAG and RED LIGHTS are displayed. All cars remain where
they are. (DO NOT go to the START/FINISH line! There will be no assistance from the pit
crews, who are not allowed on the track. As soon as an incident involving a RED FLAG is
cleared, drivers will be given a 10-second countdown from the announcer and fans. Be
Alert!
(NOTE: If a
driver does not stop on the track immediately, the car is subject to DISQUALIFICATION!)
11. When the
GREEN FLAG and GREEN LIGHTS are displayed, the race will resume.
12. On GREEN,
cars will be allowed to enter the pits for repair or servicing. NO MODIFICATIONS ARE
PERMITTED IN THE PITS. Re-entry to the racing surface will be allowed as the track
officials indicate. During RED FLAG situations, the track entrance and exit will be
blocked and all cars will be held until the GREEN FLAG appears.
13. Unless a
hazard exists, the driver may not get out of his/her car on the racing surface or service
his/her car in the infield. Disqualification is the penalty to any violators. In the event
your car becomes inoperable, try to get off the track. If you stall you will be removed
from the track as soon as possible.
14. At no time
may cars pass inside the accepted racing surface. Passing inside the surface or cutting
through the infield may result in a one-lap penalty for each infraction.
15. Anyone who
comes into contact with the driver's door of another competing car is subject to
DISQUALIFICATION and FORFEITURE of all Purse Money and Laps.
16. If, for any
reason, your car is BLACK FLAGGED, exit track immediately in a RESPONSIBLE MANNER. If you
fail to heed the BLACK FLAG on the second time it is displayed, your car will not be
scored and subject to DISQUALIFICATION.
17. The only
exits allowed from the track in the configuration of racing directions are: When Turning
Right - exit turn one; When Turning Left - exit turn three. If the car is unable to
proceed to the corner consistent with traffic flow, he may exit into the infield for
safety reasons.
18. The Flagman
will indicate the middle of the race by displaying the WHITE and GREEN FLAGS in the form
of a cross. The WHITE FLAG will indicate the leader is on the last lap.
19. Driver
changes are permitted, but must be done in the pits. It is the duty of the original driver
to notify his scorekeeper of any driver changes after the race for press purposes.
20. Pit stops
in the pit area must be in an orderly fashion and with safety in mind. Refueling allowed
only in designated areas.
21. Cars will
be subject to inspection before and after the event. All cars must pass Tech Inspection
before the race.
22. Portland
Speedway reserves the right to claim ANY CAR for $500.00. Failure to turn over the claimed
car will result in forfeiture of any and all winnings.
23. A mandatory
Driver's Meeting will be held before the event. Failure to attend the Driver's Meeting may
result in disqualification
24. EXCESSIVE
SMOKE, OR DAMAGE TO THE RACE TRACK, FROM ANY CAR WILL RESULT IN A BLACK FLAG.

THE RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT PROVIDED BY THE
PIT GATE REGISTRAR, AND SO INDICATE YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND ACCEPTANCE BY SIGNING THE
PROVIDED AGREEMENT PRIOR TO ENTERING THE PREMISES FOR COMPETITION. THE LANGUAGE OF SAID AGREEMENT IS PROVIDED BELOW
FOR YOUR REVIEW:
IN CONSIDERATION of being permitted
to enter for any purpose any RESTRICTED AREA (herein defined as including but not limited
to the racing surface, pit areas, infield, burn out area, approach area, shut down area,
and all walkways, concessions and other areas appurtenant to any area where any activity
related to the event shall take place), or being permitted to compete, officiate, observe,
work for, or for any purpose participate in any way in the event, EACH OF THE UNDERSIGNED,
for himself, his personal representatives, heirs, and next of kin, acknowledges, agrees
and represents that he has, or will immediately upon entering any of such restricted
areas, and will continuously thereafter, inspect such restricted areas and all portions
thereof which he enters and with which he comes in contact, and he does further warrant
that his entry upon such restricted area or areas and his participation, if any, in the
event constitutes an acknowledgment that he has inspected such restricted area and that he
finds and accepts the same as being safe and reasonably suited for the purposes of his
use, and he further agrees and warrants that if, at any time, he is in or about restricted
areas and he feels anything to be unsafe, he will immediately advise the officials of such
and will leave the restricted areas:
1.
HEREBY RELEASES, WAIVES, DISCHARGES AND COVENANTS NOT TO SUE the promoter,
participants, racing association, sanctioning organization or any subdivision thereof,
track operator, track owner, officials, car owners, drivers, pit crews, any persons in any
restricted area, promoters, sponsors, advertisers, owners and lessees of premises used to
conduct the event and each of them, their officers and employed, all for the purposes
herein referred to as releasees, from all liability to the undersigned, his
personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin for any and all loss or damage,
and any claim or demands therefor on account of injury to the person or property or
resulting in death of the undersigned, whether caused by the negligence of the releasees
or otherwise while the undersigned is in or upon the restricted area, and/or competing,
officiating in, observing, working for, or for any purpose participating in the event;
2.
HEREBY AGREES TO INDEMNIFY AND SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS the releasees
and each of them from any loss, liability, damage, or cost they may incur due to the
presence of the undersigned in or upon the restricted area or in any way competing,
officiating, observing, or working for, or for any purpose participating in the event and
whether caused by the negligence of the releasees or otherwise.
3.
HEREBY ASSUMES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR AND RISK OF BODILY INJURY,
DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE due to the negligence of releasees or otherwise while in or upon
the restricted area and/or while competing, officiating, observing, or working for or for
any purpose participating in the event.
EACH OF THE UNDERSIGNED expressly
acknowledges and agrees that the activities of the event are very dangerous and involve
the risk of serious injury and/or death and/or property damage. EACH OF THE UNDERSIGNED further expressly agrees
that the forgoing release, waiver, and indemnity agreement is intended to be as broad and
inclusive as is permitted by the law of the Province or State in which the event is
conducted and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance
shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
THE UNDERSIGNED HAS READ AND
VOLUNTARILY SIGNS THE RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT, and further
agrees that no oral representations, statements or inducements apart from the foregoing
written agreement have been made.
