HAWKES CAPTURES SNAP-ON SHOOTOUT

David Hawkes of Newberg, Ore. captured the Snap-On Tools Shootout

feature win for the Budweiser I-5 Outlaw Late Models Friday night at Portland Speedway.

An enthusiastic crowd witnessed the side-by-side sideways, mudslinging action of these

800 horsepower exotic racing machines.

 

More than 50 Outlaw Late Models signed in to compete for one of 26 starting positions in

the 40 lap feature event. Rick Hodges won the "C" main event and transferred to the "B" main along

with Paul Culp of Springfield Ore. Thomas Halton of Bend, Ore. transferred to the big dance

by winning the "B" feature. Also transferring to the "A" main event was Paul Culp after racing

to the front of the "B" after starting at the rear.
